Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge

For me, Carrick A Rede has always felt like one of those places that reminds you to pause, breathe deeply and take in the beauty around you. A place where the sky feels endless, the air feels alive, and for a moment, you feel suspended between sea and land.

 In this painting I wanted to capture that feeling of wonder and exhilaration standing high above the Atlantic with nothing but blue sky stretching overhead.

The cliffs hold the warmth and texture of centuries, while the bridge draws your eye forward, inviting you to be brave and keep going. Below, the water moves gently through the rocks, and above, the familiar sound of the oyster catchers carries on the breeze
