Sunflowers
These joyful sunflowers were inspired by the blooms growing in Granny Patsy’s garden, always standing tall and bright against the summer sky. Whatever the season, my Mum has a way of bringing the beauty of her garden indoors, filling the kitchen with warmth, colour and the familiar comfort of freshly cut flowers gathered by hand. A firm favourite with her grandsons growing up.
Painted in rich golden yellows with deep earthy centres, these sunflowers capture the happiness and simple pleasures of country life on a kitchen table, picked straight from the garden. Their cheerful faces seem to turn toward the light, bringing a sense of happiness and home to the room.
Part of my Floral Collection, this painting is a celebration of family, garden traditions and the lasting memories created in the heart of a coast and country kitchen.
